For the past fifteen years hubby owns his own business and in the beginning he only took cash, or checks from his customers.  So when we started getting more people wanting to pay by credit cards he asked me if we should look into merchant services.  When we found one we liked we had it for maybe 9 years, but the problem was that even when no one buys any products with a credit card you still have to pay them for service.

So in looking for ways to save some money we dropped them, and are back to cash, or checks.  I will say some costumers get mad when he tells them that he only takes cash, or checks, and he has lost some sales because of it.  To keep costs low we had to cut it, or raise the prices, and the low prices are why he’s done so well.

Do you think a small business should have to take credit cards at all?
