Not Another Game System

In our house we have more than enough video game systems. The other day we were in the video game store and hubby saw a game that he wanted. He did some quick research on his Droid, and found out that it was only available for the one system that we don’t have. We have seen many really good games come out for the XBox over the past year. I have taken an interest in some of the fitness ones that they are coming out with, and also already have out. They use the XBox Kinect. I just can’t justify spending that type of money when we have the Playstation 3, the Wii, Nintendo DS, Sony PSP, and an older XBox system. On top of them we have at least 5 computers. That is not even counting the laptops.

Why is it that companies have to make it so that they have something that everyone wants, and it isn’t on all the platforms that are out?

Halloween Costumes For Women

Being a person that doesn’t like to just spend money for a once a year holiday I decided to start looking into costumes that can be worn more than once. Now the only problem I have to take into consideration is my shape. I am very picky about how I look in things so I won’t just buy anything. I have never had good luck with using any sizing chart that is published, but the one on their site is very cut, and dry.

I wouldn’t have thought that a adult store handled anything but those secretive things, but EdenFantasys does costumes for Halloween too. Search through their site for the ultimate costume that doubles at home.

My Car Needs Some Goodies

I just came home from taking the little one to soccer practice. As soon as I got home I leaned into my hubby about some things that my car needs. While driving tonight I found that my steering wheel is cracking, and has become slightly uncomfortable. He then blasted me with a speech about using the sunshade that we bought when we got the car. After that discussion I told him that my floor mats were in some need of attention because they were pretty well worn out. He told me to find the stuff that I wanted and he would buy them for me. Knowing very little about shopping on the internet I searched for floor mats. To no surprise I got hundreds of results. I went to the first one and found some nice mats. When I showed hubby he asked if I was a little short on brain material. I had found infiniti m35 custom floor mats instead of Kia Sorento floor mats. Back to shopping I went, but this time I narrowed the search down to Kia Sorento floor mats. Why do they make shopping on the internet such a detailed process?

Dollar Store Shopping

My hubby gets upset with me when I buy things at the dollar store to save us money. He feels that the quality on some thing are not the same if its cheaper. To him cheaper means cheaply made. He also feels that there are some things you should not go cheap on like tools. When he told me he got new cutting tools for work that he needed, and they were around $15.00 dollars I told him that I could have gotten them at the dollar store cheaper. Now every time I buy something he asks if I checked to see if the dollar store sells it first. He just likes to pick on me about this. Don’t you think most men would be happy to have a wife that tries to save money.

Sometimes I have such a hard time with picking out gifts for some occasions. I either never know what to get or if I should just give money instead. Birthday gifts are easy. Most kids want toys, and adults like just about anything you get for them. With weddings and baby shower gifts you just go off the registry that they fill out. The one kind of gift that stumps me every time is student grad gifts. What other than money do you give a grad? Now some people say you could get them a novelty gift or have something engraved with there name, but I wonder if money is a better gift instead of something they will end up packing away in a box never to be seen again.

Shopping At KMart

One of my favorite stores that I like to shop at is Kmart. This is because it seems like every time I need something they have it in stock, and at a good price. Even if its on sale or they have Kmart coupons for you to use on the product they are not like some other stores that don’t stock all the time. I so hate when a store has a sale or an item that everyone seems to buy and when I get there they are out and don’t know when it will be in again or even better just stop carrying a popular product and no one knows why. I’ve had all this happen at a lot of stores and yes I can say sometimes even Kmart sells out, but if I go the first day of the sale they most likely have what I’m looking for. This is why Kmart will always be one of my go to stores even though hubby picks on me about things like the old “Blue Light Specials”.

Shopping Is Changing

Is it just me or does it seem like more and more stores are taking out those barcode scanners that they put in to help you find the price on a product? I thought that they were put in to help when no one was around to ask how much something was. Now not only is no one around to ask how much something is but I cant seem to find any of the price scanners. This makes me wonder why they put them in in the first place if they were only going to take them out. When i ask where they went I am told that they got rid of them because people left things they didn’t want by them and it made a big mess, or other stories. I wonder if it also had to do with the price at the register was higher than what the scanner said. This made it so the store couldn’t charge you more for that product. I don’t know the real reason that they are getting rid of them, but I do know that they made my life easier than running around trying to find out how much something cost.

Hubby Hates Shopping With Me

While on our vacation hubby had to take me to the store to get a few things that we needed. He hates taking me shopping. He says that I waste a lot of time when I find something on clearance, or sale and have to check the price by finding a barcode scanner. I do this only because sometimes you don’t notice until you leave that they charged you full price and it saves me time from having to go to customer service and get it fixed. He said if I paid attention when they ring me up I wouldn’t have this problem. Well you can tell by that comment who does all the shopping in our house because I do and then I have to wait and tie up the line while they go check the price out. He just don’t like to be wrong and feels he knows it all. Maybe I should send him shopping and see how he likes waiting long times for them to check a price or go from one line to another to get it fixed.

Christmas And Gift Giving

I never realized how hard it is to buy cigars for someone when they don’t have a favorite kind of cigar. This past Christmas we wanted to get something nice for a family member of ours. Hubby thought that since this person smoked cigars it would be perfect, and I on the other hand felt it would work because it would be easy. With the help of hubby we went on websites to find any cigars that were on sale. He found all sorts of different kinds ranging from acid cigars for sale to some even more expensive playboy cigars. All we wanted was good cigars that wouldn’t cost us a whole lot. Who knew that getting someone something like cigars would be so hard especially when they don’t have a favorite kind. In the end we found a nicely priced sample pack. We were happy to find that he liked the cigars, and it only took us two days to make up or minds.

I Am The Bus Driver… Beep Beep!

This year for Christmas hubby and I went over what gifts to get everyone. It was simple when it came to getting his uncle a gift. Something We both agreed to get him was cigars since he loves them so much. So we went online to find some kind of cigars for him. I found that I was really no help with this because I felt any cigar sample pack would do. He told me that it’s like when some people won’t just smoke any kind of cigarettes. You can’t just buy any type of cigars. What if he had a favorite kind like Don Pepin cigars and you got him a different kind? I couldn’t see putting that kind of money out and it not being used. That’s when he said his uncle is not a picky guy and he smokes anything once so why do I have to make it harder than it is. With that being said we got him a nice 20 cigar sample pack. All I can say is that if he didn’t like it I will have to throw hubby under the bus on that one since he ended up making the final choice. By the way… Beep Beep!

P.S. – I am sure he would love some Cubans, but they are very illegal to have, and I am not rich either.

Time To Make A Christmas List

This year for Christmas hubby asked me to make him a list of things I would like. Now every year he asks me for a list and I never give him one. I always tell him that if he was to listen to what I say I need or liked he should get that. After years of getting things I would never use or even better didn’t say I wanted I have learned to not complain. There was one year that he got me lingerie that I not only don’t remember saying I wanted, but I also don’t wear it so now I’m thinking maybe I should write a list out for him because its less work for me when I have to trade in things for something that I do want. I just feel that if I have to make you a list on what I want then maybe I should just go out and buy it myself.

Women Have Battery Problems Not Men

This year hubby and I agreed not to spend too much on one another this Christmas on gifts because we’re going on a Disney cruise in April. So we came up with a budget to spend on each other. Now this sounds easy but I wanted to get him something he not only wanted, but he could also use. So I remember him telling me that his cordless drill was acting up and he might need a new one soon. So I thought that it wasn’t only easy, but it fits my budget. I went on line to check store prices so I didn’t have to drive all over and I found a cheap Makita drill. But I wanted to make sure before I got it that he would want it. I called him and I asked him a few questions about what type of drill he would need if his died on him. I asked him if he thought Makita was a good name. He told me that it was. Now I’m thinking to myself that this was way too easy. Right after saying yes he then told me that he doesn’t want one of them. Why… well, he needs one like he already has because the Makita batteries don’t fit his drill. At this point I came to realize that buying men tools when you know nothing about them just doesn’t work. And if I still don’t know what to get him I’m sure he’ll do fine with a gift card. So now he can get the one he wants without having to worry about exchanging mine for it.

I Should Buy It Myself

The man who waits until last minute to get his Christmas shopping done asked me the other day what I wanted. So I told him we could use some new sheets for the bed. I made sure to also tell him not to get anything fancy like satin sheets because he seems to be infatuated with them. Just something in the lines of like Egyptian cotton linens will do. I hope he was listening to me. This is being said because the last time I asked for a nice blanket set for the bed he got me a satin one and we both found it was a little uncomfortable to sleep with. Who knows maybe he’ll get it right this year but just in case maybe I should pick a set up for him as a backup plan. Do you think it’s wrong to give your other half a gift you want for the holidays?

Black Friday Lines Are Horrible

While I am waiting on line for Toys”R”Us I figured I would put this out there for some thoughts. I was wrong about my thoughts from earlier, and I regret not leaving sooner. The line goes from Toys”R”Us all the way to Petsmart. That is quite a distance.

So today I told hubby that I wasn’t going to be going out on Black Friday, and in the end I decided that I was going to go out. Why…? Well, in looking through the papers I realized that not a lot of stores are doing anything truly spectacular, and I did need a few things. I could only hope with the economy in the dumper that not many people are actually going to go.

I have been looking for some stuff to get for us as a Christmas present to the both of us and saw quite a bit of nice stuff that we could use. Things like a diner service set, or even a nice bedroom set by I believe they are named Sferra. I have seen them before and thought that they were reasonable in price, and they looked well made. I don’t know, but maybe I will find out. I told hubby that a new mouse for my computer, and a few other things would be nice. He said that he would see what he could do, but money is tight and he doesn’t want to blow money for no reason. He even went as far as telling me that I didn’t have to get anything for him, but I probably will. We have each other, and we know where our hearts are.
