Strollers Have Gotten Pricey

When my brother and his new wife were having a baby I decided that I wanted to do something nice for them. So when they had a stroller down on their gift registry I thought that would be what I would get them. I mean how much could a stroller be? Well all I can say is wow to how much strollers have changed since I had my little one 10 years ago. I wanted something nice, and useful. I was looking at this baby jogger city select stroller, and it looked way cool. It has 16 different configurations. It even had some add-ons like a bassinet, and if they ever needed it they could get a second seat kit. I was very happy with the stroller that I had found until I saw the price of $ 500.00. This was a lot more than the $ 200.00 I wanted to spend. So when it came closer to the baby shower I just went to the store, and got them something they had on their gift registry, and they loved it. I loved that in the end they got something nice and it didn’t cost me the $500.

People Interrupt Me When I Am Shopping

I know now why you don’t tell people when you’re going to the store, or are at the store. A few days ago when I was at the store one of my friends called me while she was on her lunch break. She does this from time to time to see what I’m doing. So I told her that I was at the store picking up some things, and if the phone hangs up on her I will call her later when she’s home. She asked me if I saw a cheap waffle maker if I would pick it up for her. It had something to do with her seeing the waffle maker that I have. It is a Winnie The Pooh one. Anyway, I said sure, and hung up. Now with that in mind I went back to my shopping. When I saw one cheap I picked it up, and then left the store. When I got home I realized I had forgotten half of the stuff that I went to the store for, so that night I had to go back once again, and pick them up. In telling hubby what I did he said that it was my fault because I didn’t write a list. I normally do make a list up, but this time it was just a few things so I didn’t think I had to. Do you make a list every time you go shopping even if it’s only a few things that you need?

Music, Music, And More Music

The other day when I was at the store picking up something’s I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw an employee stocking shelves while listening to music on his Ipod. Now it’s been a long time since I had a job, but I don’t think anything has changed to where you’re allowed to bring your ipods to work, nor do I think it’s safe, or polite. What if I needed help with merchandise? I don’t think he would have even heard me. How do you feel about employees using ipods while working?

While we are here… What is the big deal about an Ipod? I personally don’t have one because I have a Sirius Stilleto. I can store mp3 files, and also listen to live music, and more. My little one has a Zen. It stores mp3 files, videos, and more. We aren’t tied in with ITunes, or any of the other sources that suck money out of your pocket.

Makeup Goes Bad? Yes It Does.

When I showed my friend a photo of me with make up on, and me all dressed up she asked me why I don’t wear make up all the time. I told her how it makes my face breakout when I do, very timely, and how it’s hard to find a good face cream to help with this. Then she asked me how old my make up was. I told her that I didn’t know. I had it for a really long time. I don’t remember the last time I bought make up. She said that’s probably the problem. She told me that make up goes bad after a while,and might be causing these issues. Now I never new makeup could go bad. I always thought that it was because I had cheap make up. In not wanting to call her a liar I asked a few other friends if they knew this, and sure enough they all said that they knew about this. Now this means I have to go to the store, and buy new makeup. I just hope I don’t have a hard time finding colors that I like because it’s been that long since I got my make up. Why is it that I’m the last to know these things ?

Do I Look Like I Need Batteries?

I noticed lately that everytime I go to the store, and buy something, and no matter what it is the cashier asks me if I need batteries. I can’t help but wonder who thought this was a good idea? What use do I have for a battery when I’m not buying anything that uses them? I could see if I got a toy ,or flashlight, but not when I get things like clothes, candy, or paper towels. One time the cashier asked me if I needed them when I was getting a car battery. So I said “Not unless I can use them to jump start my car.”

What I probably could use is a gadget that I saw on the web some time ago.It was a usb battery. (A battery with a usb port for charging.) If I had one of those I wouldn’t have a pile of old batteries that have run out of juice. Well she didn’t look like she found it as funny as I did. I will say that sometimes it does make me laugh, and not feel so stressed from shopping.

Maybe that’s why they ask the question so to make you feel better. Make you laugh, and relieve some stress.

Holiday Shopping & Saving Money

Hubby is a big technology person, and I always have to purchase something for him dealing with technology. I will usually stop at Staples to get him his goodies for the holidays. Even after the holidays I am there a lot because of printer ink, paper, software, and much more. The only other thing that I have to go out for is video games for him. He is a big shooter gamer.

With the economy so bad I have been entering into some blog contests so that I can get some things without having to spend the money that hubby is earning for bills.

Here is a holiday tip for you… Watch your local flyers for special in store savings. Just because Black Friday is over doesn’t mean the savings are over.

Holiday Shopping Made Easy For Stores

There are numerous things that stores seem to do to take some of the stress of the holidays off of their minds. This holiday I noticed more stores doing things to control the flow of traffic, and also how some stores have streamlined their checkout process.

Last year one of the stores I went into rang each item into the register individually by punching in the sku numbers. This year that same store had Symbol LS2208 units installed. This made it much more time saving at the store. Point, shoot, and done. I was very happy with all that I got accomplished. Now if they would only have the Black Friday sales all weekend, then I would be set. The lines are usually brutal. The store my hubby works at is having their after Thanksgiving sale for the entire weekend. The same things that were sold on Black Friday are up for grabs all weekend. Sony is definitelly a smart on for that.

If I only needed tvs, and PS3 units I would have had it made. They are giving away PS3 units with certain tvs, and the prices were extremelly low, and noone else came even close to the prices.

Things I Didn’t See For Black Friday

As I sit here and go through all the door buster ads that I got in my high price newspaper this morning I saw that they have a lot of plasma tvs on sale, and I so far have not seen any plasma mounts by, or mentioned in the ads. I know my husband was telling me that Sony was giving a mount for 50% off with the purchase of a tv. I wonder how many people will get the tvs, and forget the mounts in their time of rushing around all day to get the best deals this year so far. So here is a little heads up for you… If you are one going out to get a tv you might want to remember to pick up one. Wall mounting a tv is by far one of the best types of installation you can have.

I know my husband did tell me that the Sony Outlet in Tinton Falls will be giving a FREE PS3 with the purchase of select tvs. I think that they are one of the few companies that are trying to make shopping worth it to customers.

Online Tobacco

All my life things have not been fair to me like when I was younger my older brothers could do anything, and my mom would tell me it’s because they are boys. Now I know that I should quit smoking, but it’s hard to do. I did quit once for 6 months, then went back to smoking. What makes me mad just like when I was younger is that you can buy cigars online, and not cigarettes. Well, you can buy cigarettes, but if you get caught you can be fined. Now how is that right? Tobacco is tobacco wether it’s in a cigar, or cigarette. I know life is not fair, and I also know I should quit smoking, but I do believe we should treat everyone equal.

Cigars online would be great for my hubbys uncle L. He is a cigar connoisseur, and he knows his thing. We once brought him back hand rolled cigars from Key West, and he said that they were pretty good.

Shopping At T.J.Maxx

Realizing that I needed some new clothing, and remembering that I was given a T.J.Maxx gift card, I decided to check out their latest fall fashions. Now I’ve never been to a T.J.Maxx store before so I made the little one go with me because if they didn’t have something for me, then maybe they would have something for her.

When I went into the store I couldn’t believe all the clothes, and things that they had. And it was all fashionable trends at way lower prices than the other department stores that I do shop at. We spent three hours going through the store, and trying on all of the stuff that we found, and liked. In the end I got a really nice sweater, and the little one got a new robe. We did get something else while we were there.

We found a new place to shop for anything that we need at very low prices. If you have a T.J.Maxx store near you, and like me never got a chance to go in, then I would recommend that you check it out. Who knows what bargains you’ll find, and the best part is that you don’t have to wait until it’s on sale because their prices are that low.

Fnding The Right Gift For A Loved One

I don’t know much about computers but my hubby does. He has been fixing them for years. This is something that he has loved to do for the longest time. When I saw that a company made a custom usb drive I thought of him. I’m wondering if this would make a good gift for him, or not. I never know what to get this man. All I know is that if it has to do with computers, or video games that he will likes it most of the time. The hardest thing about getting him a gift is that I know very little about computers, or games. This makes me getting my gifts for him a hit or miss.

Chirstmas Shopping and My Daughter

My hubby loves anything that has to do with Star Wars, and OH… let’s not forget about Disney. So one Christmas when the little one and I were out shopping for his gift she saw a huge cardboard display from a Star Wars promotion. She then asked the sales person if it was for sale because her daddy loves Star Wars, and he would love this for a gift. The sales person was so nice to her when he told her that it was not for sale. He then tells her that they do have a lot of toys, and movies that she can buy. So thanks to the sales person doing his job I spent the next hour telling her that daddy is too old to play with toys, and that he already has all the movies. That only upset her more. In the end we got him something nice, and he said he was happy, but the most important this was that so was she.

Gift Buying At My House

Is your man anything like mine or am I just that lucky? When my man buys a gift for me I say that I love it no matter what. It just seems like I get a lot of the same thing over, and over again. Like there was this one Christmas that he, and the little one got me this beautiful heart pendant jewelry for a gift. I guess he thought I liked it so much that I would want the same type of thing next year. So to make shopping easier on him he picked the same one out for me. Now it’s like he thinks I need two of something in order to enjoy it. I know he means well, and one day he will get it right if he would put a little more time in picking a gift out, like one that I don’t have. Until then I’ll just have to deal with getting more then I want of one thing.

Lean Cuisine Getting Pretty Hefty

When I first bought the lean cuisine dinners it was because they were on sale and I wanted to try them. They were really good so I decided to blog about them, and now it seems like after blogging about them that they are never on sale. So I told hubby it’s because they’re onto me. They must know I like them so much that now they won’t put them on sale anymore. He just thinks I’m going crazy. I want to know who I have to call to get them on sale again, or find out where they are on sale in my area because I can’t afford them at full price. I guess I’ll just have to keep looking, and wait for it to happen.
