Clothing Makes The Card

I love when I get XMas cards with photos on them. Everyone always looks so nice and dressed up. One year we made our own and I thought that they were nice, but wished that they looked better. It is all in the clothes. Maybe next time I will see if I can find some good Ralph Lauren coupons so that I can pull off the perfect holiday look like some of the cards that we get. I could really go all out and make my card look like a holiday ad that you would only see in one of the magazines. In order to pull this off I would need some really good coupons. Until I do get the right clothes, and coupons I will just stick with the cheap holiday cards unless we win the lottery.

What do you think? Don’t you find that the clothing makes every picture look better?

What Surprises Lie Ahead?

Throughout the years that I have been with my husband I have received “Anonymous” gifts. In the beginning my husband had me paranoid about receiving them because he was concerned that they may be from my Ex, and that he may have done something to them to get back at me. One year I received a box from John and Kiras that had candies that looked like ladybugs. I only wished that they were chocolate strawberry gifts. Just about 2 years ago I found out that the gifts were coming from his Uncle L. He does things to make people feel special, or sometimes to just nudge a little bit.

He is a very sweet man.

What Do I Want For Christmas?

Each year I write up a list for hubby telling him what I would like for Christmas. Each year it seems I only get one, or two things from the list. Hubby never ceases to amaze me. He tries very hard, and that is why I love him. He seems to do things that are more practical. Last year he looked through the kitchen and decided that I needed some new cutting tools… aka knives. The year before that he got me a few appliances.

This year I know that money is tight so we have agreed to not go overboard on each other. I just hope that he doesn’t get me something that I will not use. I am not that into lingerie, books, or games.

Do you have a situation like me?

Halloween And Its Future For My Little One

Halloween brought out all kinds of costumes this year. Some of the costumes were just totally wrong. The older children think that dressing trashy is cute. Well, I think that they are wrong. I cant believe how fast Halloween came and went this year. I’m not the only one who noticed this. Just the other day I caught my little one looking up adult diapers at disposablemedicalexpress.com. I asked her why she was looking up adult diapers and if there was some thing she wanted to tell me. I was told that she was looking into what she was going to be next year for Halloween and she thought a baby would be fun. I just hope she keeps looking because I don’t think I’m buying adult diapers for her, me, or anyone anytime soon. What happened to just wearing your pajamas when we went as a baby on Halloween?

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner I feel hubby might be up to something. He is the same man that knows I don’t wear a lot of jewelry and when I do it’s not very often. Lately he keeps asking me why I don’t have a lot of jewelry or why I don’t ask for anything special. I told him that it’s just not worth the money to spend on, especially if I’m not going to wear it much. He thinks I’m looking at it all wrong. According to him I should look at it as a way to invest in gold. I think he’s just maybe trying to find an easy Valentine’s Day gift for me. So I ask would you invest in something you don’t really like or need? It all just sounds like a waste of money to me.

I was talking to one of the other moms while I was waiting by the school for the little one to get out for the day. She was going on about how wonderful her husband is, and what he’s doing for her on Valentine’s Day this year. She was telling me how he planned a fancy get away to setai New York. I told her how lucky she was to have a thoughtful husband. When I came home I told hubby about our friend’s husband and how he was taking her away to a luxury resort in New York for Valentine’s day. Then hubby told me how I was luckier to have him because he is taking me on not one, but 2 of the new Disney cruises in April. Though I must say he is right I am lucky, but I still feel she got a little better deal because it’s just the two of them going away to relax. I would miss the little one, but sometimes I wish we could go away just the two of us.

All I Want For Christmas…

This past Christmas the little one had a camera on her list for Santa. When I told hubby the things that she wrote down he then reminded me how she already has two cameras. So with this info I thought I would talk to the little one about asking Santa for things that she didn’t need. She told me that the ones we gave her we don’t let her use all the time. Now I did set her straight on this. Yes we have them put away so she doesn’t lose or break them but anytime she asks us for them they are hers to have. With that info she crossed them off her list but still to this day has not even looked to use a camera or asked for one from us. This makes me wonder how bad she really needs anything she has on her list for Santa. Is it wrong to ask Santa for things that we don’t need? If it’s not then he’s got a long list coming next year from me. Watch out Santa here I come.

Being Married And Gifts

Hubby and I have been married for many years. We don’t do anything major on any of our anniversaries. We usually just go out for a cheap dinner, and come home and relax. On our 10th wedding anniversary we did go away for the weekend, but nothing special, or expensive. I am wondering what our 15th anniversary will bring.

Hubby isn’t allowed to bring flowers home to me at all, and if he ever does, then I want to know what he did for him to bring home them. I know that there are different things for each anniversary mark, but for the most part I think I should stick to what we use a lot of in the house. One of those things would be toilet paper. Check out this anniversary gift, and tell me what you think. Would you expect to use it in the end, or not?

Fathers Day Is Unique In Our Family

This past father’s day I realized how when it comes to getting a gift for dad it almost seems geared a lot towards mens ties. This is fine if dad likes, or even wears ties. My hubby doesn’t. He is a simple person. He isn’t into Hob-Knobbing in any organizations, or things like that. He likes to just relax at home, and have no possible reason to spend any extra money.

Not knowing what to do I did the next best thing, and asked the little one to help me since he is her dad. It didn’t take her long to find her dad a great gift. It was a PS3 network card. He always talks about getting games from the Playstation Network, and this seemed perfect. She felt maybe he would like to pick his own gift out, and said he liked a lot of stuff that they had on the Store last time. Come father’s day when he got her gift he told her that he loved it, and wanted to use it on something the whole family could play. That’s when I realized it’s not about what you get dad for father’s day, or whether it’s a handmade card or a tie.

What Fathers Day is all about is that you show him you care, and appreciate all that he does for you.

Holiday Wish For The World

The other day I read an article that said there were @ 4396710 million kids in the world. I think mine is the sweetest one of them all. O.K. maybe it’s not fair because I’m her mom, but the other day in school they had to write a Christmas wish for the world, and out of all the things she could have written she wrote something that was just unselfish. This just touched my heart in a special way. I thought I would share it with the world, and this is what it said.

My wish for the world by Leeann…

My wish for the world this holiday season is for everyone to have food so that no one starves. Everyone should be rich so that they can buy food, and a house. For the kids they should get their own money to spend on what they want. For Christmas everyone gets tons of gifts even if they are naughty. My last holiday wish is for everyone to spend time together on Christmas so that they can remember all the good times that they had. These are my wishes for the holiday season.

So this Christmas don’t forget to be thankful for what you have, and remember those who don’t because we don’t live in a perfect world, but with kids like this maybe one day it will be a better world for all of us.

Holiday Decorating In Disney

Back in October me, hubby, and the little one went to Disney World for Halloween. We had a blast. Seeing all of the Halloween decorations they had up looked so cool. I told hubby that I would hate to be the person that has the job of putting all the decorations on the tall metal buildings. This is because they just take it all down in a month, and get ready for the next holiday. They either get paid good money to do this, love their job, or love to decorate for the holidays. I wonder what their homes look like for the holidays. While we were there we saw them starting to decorate for Christmas. Seeing the Halloween stuff be replaced by Christmas stuff just seemed so strange to me, but I know they do things like that because of the time it takes to do the decorating.

Do you go crazy with putting up lots or just a little decoration for every holiday?

Independence Day

For the 4th of July I took my little one to see the beautiful fireworks show near us. She didn’t feel very good, but said that she wanted to go anyway. Off we went with a friend, and her daughter. My little one didn’t look like she was too into them, and my friends daughter that is the same age loved them.

At my age I still loved to see the beautiful colors. My friend has a little radio that she played patriotic music on while the fireworks went off. It made it a little nicer to hear the music. My hubby stayed home because he didn’t care to see the fireworks. He only watches fireworks in Disney.

I ask this… At what age did you not care to see the fireworks anymore? I feel they are enjoyed by all.
