Over the past few years we have been trying to figure out different ways to cut some costs during the summer. We got a pool in a few years back, and that has been one way of staying cool. We are now trying to think up some ways of not turning on the central air system in our house. The electric company has been pretty vicious with their rates. We have a full basement in our house, and we have come up with the idea of staying downstairs on really hot nights. The basement is very cool in the summer. This is probably because there aren’t many windows. What we do know is that the air will probably get hot just by using it a lot, but I was thinking about if a humidifier might help the situation. This would also be good for us with any allergies that we do have. What is your thoughts on this?

A dehumidifier would probably cool better–or at least give an illusion thereof.
